The Pittsburgh Steelers made Bradshaw their first pick in the 1970 NFL Draft after they won a coin toss tiebreaker over the Chicago Bears since both teams had identical 1-13 records the previous year. [4] Bradshaw was lauded at the time as the undisputed top pick, irrespective of the team that selected him.
He continued his career as the quarterback of the Steelers and, in 1980, after defeating the Los Angeles Rams, received the Super Bowl MVP Award once more. Then, heartbreakingly, he began to have problems with his elbows.
To his unlucky timing, he was forced to leave in 1983 after just one game due to his own error as he returned to the field before fully recovering, causing permanent harm. He lost to the New York Jets in his most recent game.
